When Bongo the mouse stows away in a suitcase at the airport he has no idea where he is going to end up, so when he arrives in New Zealand it’s a big surprise! As well as meeting friendly kiwi, Maia, he also makes friends with Molly, a wise old owl who teaches him how to do the haka.

Gemma Healy
Written by Gemma Healy and beautifully illustrated by Amanda Hughes. Gemma is known for her storytelling and musical talents as well as being a mum to Molly who loves to listen to her stories of Bongo’s adventures and listen to her sing about his travels.
Along with writing children’s books she is a full time musician, she plays in a band with her husband John in Queenstown New Zealand where they live with their daughter.
Gemma wrote and performed the Bongo theme tune, and recorded it with John and their friend Jamie. The download is available on the website
